<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">I've started to doodle some more and decided to make frames with my doodles. </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What can you use these frames for? Almost anything that you can think of, really. At the top of my head I can think of name tags, gift tags, making cards, flashcards, workheets, colouring sheets and posters. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">If you like them then you can get them at my</span><span style="text-align: justify;"> </span><a href="https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Assorted-Frames-for-name-tags-gift-tags-cards-worksheets-colouring-sheets-2962068" style="text-align: justify;" target="_blank">teacherspaytachers shop</a><span style="text-align: justify;">. They come in both jpeg with a white background or png transparent. </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can have fun creating lots of things from them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've put one <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9OJr1Uuclgpa0Y0UG9ZZ0VmQWM/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank">here for you to download free</a>. It's the heart shaped one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Enjoy! Let me know what you've used it for.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmV1CCYCztTS4hq5RU9VlmqyHXxCqyXcynbh7rIy25Qa6mGf9sGtw4PuAdUjuDQM7mRuDQwHY4v1Vn6Ns0MOoReQvFl3XqaqRW_f0oJZzdeF4LyMJuUu8IZRa03_DdMFoq9vVFRSmByTWE/s1600/Half+A+Dozen+Roses+for+Mum.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmV1CCYCztTS4hq5RU9VlmqyHXxCqyXcynbh7rIy25Qa6mGf9sGtw4PuAdUjuDQM7mRuDQwHY4v1Vn6Ns0MOoReQvFl3XqaqRW_f0oJZzdeF4LyMJuUu8IZRa03_DdMFoq9vVFRSmByTWE/s320/Half+A+Dozen+Roses+for+Mum.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So after my first try at watercolour roses using the Copic brush pen, I decided to make another rose picture. This time I bought an extra shade of pink. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The three pink shades make the roses more 3 dimensional. If you compare this with <a href="http://jameeladesigns.blogspot.com.au/2017/04/3-watercolour-roses-for-you.html" target="_blank">my previous attempt,</a> the first lot of roses look more flat. This one has a bit more depth to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Except for the green leaves. I only had one shade of green but I've tried to add a bit of shading by letting the green dry then going over it again to darken it. It works ok but it really needs a different shade of green to lift everything up.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's still quite lovely that I've used it to make a card for Mother. </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuJx7sSyvJ90f33-Ol95ZsBl8T6E19ZdxrQHprv5vwd1oHnApV0czyasl6FJ-YOclSeqAlw5682ZQU-fBuyQXKb1Szj71ukm3X66dIEJGdUJVktzB-OiHBgr5MZjrHdd6sea8tus9N4J6B/s1600/3+Watercolour+Roses+for+You.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuJx7sSyvJ90f33-Ol95ZsBl8T6E19ZdxrQHprv5vwd1oHnApV0czyasl6FJ-YOclSeqAlw5682ZQU-fBuyQXKb1Szj71ukm3X66dIEJGdUJVktzB-OiHBgr5MZjrHdd6sea8tus9N4J6B/s320/3+Watercolour+Roses+for+You.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I got early to work today and on my way I stopped by Officeworks to do some photocopying since my machine was broken and had to be fixed. I decided to have a look around first and found these Ciao Copic pens which I've been looking for. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I grabbed two packs, one is a pastel palette and the other is a bright palette. I've always loved roses and knew that I'd need a few different shades of pinks and greens (hence the two packs).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="text-align: justify;">Confession time: I've never used these pens before and I've dabbled with watercolours using actual brush and paints but I'm still a beginner at this.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So with these pens and extra time on my hand I decided to give it a go. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ta-da</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When it was time to teach my toddler class, I had packed everything away except for this rose watercolour which I'd left on my desk. One of my little student saw it and said, "Oooh, painting! So pretty." Well if a 3 year old likes it then maybe you'd like it too :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You could use it to make your own cards if you like.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

As an example of what you could do with it, I've made a thank you card that you could download as well.<br />

Here is a colouring sheet just for you, for personal use only. You can download the pdf below.<br />
<br />
I've combined my drawing with the words 'You are my Valentine' in calligraphy. Yes, I've learnt calligraphy years ago but haven't used it until recently when I realised that you can do it free-hand and not stick to the rigid rules of classical calligraphy. I believe it's called lettering. There is so many possibilities!<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>You can colour the heart in, make a poster or make a card with it and give it to your loved one. Enjoy!<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, it's <a href="http://jameeladesigns.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Bag" target="_blank">another bag</a> and yes, it's another <a href="http://jameeladesigns.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/patched-heart-cushion.html" target="_blank">patchwork heart</a>. But this time I've combined the two and made it into a bag. Here's how I made it:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><b>Instructions:</b><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. First, I made the patchwork heart. Go here to download the instructions on how to make the <a href="http://jameeladesigns.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/patched-heart-cushion.html" target="_blank">patchwork heart.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglmSOTLZR8Ybw5XKLBsxgMSyqmr4ujC4WAmNNjwRiz7xlpsfTy67qdJpoP90F-8jOOrwiGJ5djWfIM0hjAy7T_Ux03PuXSsIeWzvz8C9xCFSrcEZuX196vt1zNQX0NtlOT94CMm1IxuoaH/s1600/IMG_0915.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglmSOTLZR8Ybw5XKLBsxgMSyqmr4ujC4WAmNNjwRiz7xlpsfTy67qdJpoP90F-8jOOrwiGJ5djWfIM0hjAy7T_Ux03PuXSsIeWzvz8C9xCFSrcEZuX196vt1zNQX0NtlOT94CMm1IxuoaH/s320/IMG_0915.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Once you have the patchwork heart then sew a black border around the heart.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. Sew a strip of red fabric (the same fabric as the herat) on either side of the vertical black border.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Lay the whole piece over the remaining red fabric and cut the red fabric out, following the patchwork piece. (Use the black fabric and cut 2 more pieces the same size as this. These 2 black peices will be used as the lining of the bag - or you can skip this part and not lined the bag).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. Sew the sides and the bottom of the two pieces together as you would for a bag. (Do the same for the fabric pieces.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. Sew the bottom corners of the bag (and lining) to make a box shape.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7. Cut 2 red fabric rectangles for the straps. Sew in the edges and attach to the bag. Attach lining. (If not making lining then turn in the hem of the bag opening and then attach the straps.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqsz4ZeTt4wOOYiNfws6o4sGR5_leQwwGqaBWXGw2FbMQ1ggZOifX1mwGBqSAyGzXk_2Ed4hWJ09cQLBcgsigxwqh81Xr6Ynh-jPk_0FxlbUHKbu6Z8rHQsch-DV84LpBXGiWsDHQlvl_j/s1600/Free+Colour+in+Floral+Frame.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqsz4ZeTt4wOOYiNfws6o4sGR5_leQwwGqaBWXGw2FbMQ1ggZOifX1mwGBqSAyGzXk_2Ed4hWJ09cQLBcgsigxwqh81Xr6Ynh-jPk_0FxlbUHKbu6Z8rHQsch-DV84LpBXGiWsDHQlvl_j/s320/Free+Colour+in+Floral+Frame.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've just started a new hobbie and it's drawing these colouring sheets. Now I'm not a doodler but I like to occasionally draw. Last year I saw my niece doodling these henna-style florals and I thought I'd have a go.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I've been doodling away. And this is how I made this floral frame that you see.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuyX2TXTAwft7ndAhPr2IiIzkUM720yLMPpxaliCVuzEykmcneObIO9TTaMGcBtFPzQH19kzdABHCbC5PtiN_ogvEIplGvE8YBQ9g0y-rxM8onb79MqZOI-Qt3N8_Q9KefcrO4bEc_LJip/s1600/IMG_0745.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuyX2TXTAwft7ndAhPr2IiIzkUM720yLMPpxaliCVuzEykmcneObIO9TTaMGcBtFPzQH19kzdABHCbC5PtiN_ogvEIplGvE8YBQ9g0y-rxM8onb79MqZOI-Qt3N8_Q9KefcrO4bEc_LJip/s320/IMG_0745.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First I've started with a circle that I drew in the middle of the page. Then I drew some henna-style florals around the circle. These florals are made up of circles basically.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB4WpfwHcLbA3d0Ax2q-h9WCKKiwral67KgKA94LjLiIHpwVkL28vZY5e9PQsw7T-6jhFKwSlqXcG_PgtTdD3kLpnjonSLIvLtKHtVJhpxBAphR60YEDfDVLqkOIPK8Unfn_cw0Z2xEFEc/s1600/IMG_0746.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB4WpfwHcLbA3d0Ax2q-h9WCKKiwral67KgKA94LjLiIHpwVkL28vZY5e9PQsw7T-6jhFKwSlqXcG_PgtTdD3kLpnjonSLIvLtKHtVJhpxBAphR60YEDfDVLqkOIPK8Unfn_cw0Z2xEFEc/s320/IMG_0746.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next, I fill in the larger space around the circle with large full florals.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-h4pPjcxe77KmVUYAony-WVwhpwy0pUUwFwuYj7YoECAQylqSP6DysopBaLqypfbPzguQ6S6SvQ4hPfai9xaaZ7wOXW1CCvGHHadB1criUHksOiOimuUTMYofhwcEKY73VqwqjxUsbEq_/s1600/IMG_0747.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-h4pPjcxe77KmVUYAony-WVwhpwy0pUUwFwuYj7YoECAQylqSP6DysopBaLqypfbPzguQ6S6SvQ4hPfai9xaaZ7wOXW1CCvGHHadB1criUHksOiOimuUTMYofhwcEKY73VqwqjxUsbEq_/s320/IMG_0747.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I kept filling in the smaller white spaces with smaller florals until there are no largish space left.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiis37IR9lh8L5aGIsys5PRw99c7OfcDVPX46HMEghcmIaWkVeyJHhcHlUEwVa-EvzGKFwzqcDm2gcVhzkNeBkq_e98xtFQpEYBTmeDhLM-jhaO-UFXLp45oB_oQeijKsttE0hmctrTuol0/s1600/IMG_0748.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiis37IR9lh8L5aGIsys5PRw99c7OfcDVPX46HMEghcmIaWkVeyJHhcHlUEwVa-EvzGKFwzqcDm2gcVhzkNeBkq_e98xtFQpEYBTmeDhLM-jhaO-UFXLp45oB_oQeijKsttE0hmctrTuol0/s320/IMG_0748.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Finally, with the reamining white gaps, I filled them up with swirls.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4jtk4hLvrvnv1X0stFB1SO6mN1Fwh15ggitv6jffD-b5GVklHhJobmwVvreuLdrnyO5ggaQsiaTyZi1H3kmLDO951tJGioaa9q7MLi6y1AWxR1i9_1J8Pe5IwWJ3Ekq009lF2bccPuh74/s1600/framefloralthumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4jtk4hLvrvnv1X0stFB1SO6mN1Fwh15ggitv6jffD-b5GVklHhJobmwVvreuLdrnyO5ggaQsiaTyZi1H3kmLDO951tJGioaa9q7MLi6y1AWxR1i9_1J8Pe5IwWJ3Ekq009lF2bccPuh74/s320/framefloralthumb.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the final product and you can <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9OJr1UuclgpLW9sOVdsaWxrU3c/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank">download the high quality colouring sheet here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You could also flip it on its side and use it this way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-g3NLiNgspVFzBxv-JkcTkpQeT8Qb7Ht4pyX6lLmZoOecnys1BTbqwezofeSOwMVM3Ky1b2-hxgt_gBOphOhs9rdEqK0Cd_8XMv0_j8rXiLgYseYUxqEJEZehBLjvEnFFgUNogNu2qZl4/s1600/framefloralthumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-g3NLiNgspVFzBxv-JkcTkpQeT8Qb7Ht4pyX6lLmZoOecnys1BTbqwezofeSOwMVM3Ky1b2-hxgt_gBOphOhs9rdEqK0Cd_8XMv0_j8rXiLgYseYUxqEJEZehBLjvEnFFgUNogNu2qZl4/s320/framefloralthumb.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So what would you use this frame for? What would you put in that empty white circle? It's up to you really. You can put a pircture or your favourite quote, colour it in and hang it up. Enjoy!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have a lot of antique English fine bone china that I've collected over the years. Most of them are in excellent condition but sometimes I do come across old, worn out pieces or broken pieces. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Accidents do happen. Take for example my antique Foley Wileman set below. When I heard the ching of broken china my heart nearly stopped. My husband accidentally dropped something on it. This set was from the early 19th century.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIvJ_Aaz5eB_20hqnvCXtwrpYeGgW_qZ-l45WvBpj4MQ5yho4ReDsZa6tyhzjZ_hBvPaJPAMbilrDlWv0hHoRS_6RqWtQT-gdangisjsCxajdTg5H0qDqnNaO3RWRrsXe559HSGN7k2GsD/s1600/13880388_1217261288304172_6151342994844277426_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIvJ_Aaz5eB_20hqnvCXtwrpYeGgW_qZ-l45WvBpj4MQ5yho4ReDsZa6tyhzjZ_hBvPaJPAMbilrDlWv0hHoRS_6RqWtQT-gdangisjsCxajdTg5H0qDqnNaO3RWRrsXe559HSGN7k2GsD/s320/13880388_1217261288304172_6151342994844277426_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So what do I do with all my broken or old pieces? Well I used to <a href="http://jameeladesigns.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Mosaic" target="_blank">make mosaic pieces with them</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But recently, I've discovered broken china jewellery. They are exquisite so I've decided to try my hands at a few.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Brooches</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkiUxctQMvBkBgSup6Sn1tU2de8gwWiHiEyAseX4Usoo4kudtIHYwWWlkoFjlvbHotsBp2vS4AzpHKi5GZNi5AO-lrQel3R7uM4bYRsPbCar972KpmqQjeTSxZ3CXwVWrSBH7ZQo54N51/s1600/IMG_8970.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHkiUxctQMvBkBgSup6Sn1tU2de8gwWiHiEyAseX4Usoo4kudtIHYwWWlkoFjlvbHotsBp2vS4AzpHKi5GZNi5AO-lrQel3R7uM4bYRsPbCar972KpmqQjeTSxZ3CXwVWrSBH7ZQo54N51/s320/IMG_8970.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To make the brooches, first I drew the shape onto the china then used a glass cutter to cut it out. I then sanded the edges so that it became smooth. After this I attached the brooch attachment to the back.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4FaTEwbpphWZ_1nWV3IW_wJacckaWBmEl6kwyV3x5cP2VtJAlOlgSUolUryR9P5RoSZTJCjwkJS-wKPMRj671CM7-mYQSZSTZlBFFXH7n_XdNaLvd6mj2K9ScUKEFqFq6svb-zZPLGrM3/s1600/IMG_8969.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4FaTEwbpphWZ_1nWV3IW_wJacckaWBmEl6kwyV3x5cP2VtJAlOlgSUolUryR9P5RoSZTJCjwkJS-wKPMRj671CM7-mYQSZSTZlBFFXH7n_XdNaLvd6mj2K9ScUKEFqFq6svb-zZPLGrM3/s320/IMG_8969.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<b>Pendants & Necklaces</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Ml-qL-8YOApGBKqr4KJrafljso3K7BG48XFyzdJwB2KG6jhR1MkF58ykenb8DZkEWQl-tda8UGhUxhWECU2GNSxzvNYD-AC7bJkFxyHXXD10k28jhss-k3Vv-G0OPj5h0JytfkqIet7b/s1600/IMG_8971.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-Ml-qL-8YOApGBKqr4KJrafljso3K7BG48XFyzdJwB2KG6jhR1MkF58ykenb8DZkEWQl-tda8UGhUxhWECU2GNSxzvNYD-AC7bJkFxyHXXD10k28jhss-k3Vv-G0OPj5h0JytfkqIet7b/s320/IMG_8971.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To make the pendants, first I drew and cut the shape out of the broken china and sanded the edges. Then I attached the jump ring to the bail plate using a jewellery plier. Next, I glued the bail onto the back of the broken china piece. When it dried I threaded a chain through it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4U6v46y-4oPUxqhGm1T5KUqbcvYhXPNP-sf74XDzo7k3an5K28ADM73ATRmxPz32u7Z_SOaCjGeK2lKGZiqXmXS2aP1UtxjKobCcZPlV6jbopEcIPjb0_KB9LH18YuQbrPiaXOf1n7JtD/s1600/IMG_8972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4U6v46y-4oPUxqhGm1T5KUqbcvYhXPNP-sf74XDzo7k3an5K28ADM73ATRmxPz32u7Z_SOaCjGeK2lKGZiqXmXS2aP1UtxjKobCcZPlV6jbopEcIPjb0_KB9LH18YuQbrPiaXOf1n7JtD/s320/IMG_8972.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You could, of course, drill a hole into the broken china shape and then attach a jump ring but I haven't learnt how to use a drill yet without breaking the china. I am working on it.</div>

<br />
This lap quilt has been twelve years in the making.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started this quilt 12 years ago when my eldest was a toddler. I thought that I could continue with my sewing hobbies after having a baby but boy was I wrong.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had sewn the patchwork stars and border pieces and had started to hand sew clear beads and sequence onto the them. Sewing with a toddler was difficult because he was always attached to me and if I sewed he would crawl around and fiddle with the foot pedal. Dangerous!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I decided to do it while he was napping but my children are all light sleepers and any noise would wake them. So I had to stop sewing because the sound of my noisy sewing sewing running always woke him up. Anyway, it took me a while to sew these patchwork stars and borders.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next was the beading. I couldn't do it while my child was awake because as we all know children love to put things into their mouths and these tiny beads and sequences are so attractive to little eyes. So while he slept, I beaded and hand sew. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can't see it from the photos but all the printed fabric have beads and sequences on them. and it took me ages to do. When I finally finished these 4 panels, it was time to sew again with the sewing machine. But this was impossible as I've explained before (and then I had another child so it was even more impoosible). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So away they went, all packed up and put away for the next 12 years until recently when I found them and decided to make them into a lap quilt. That is the life story of these four panels!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now on to how I've made this lap quilt.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW1wR2mqHwDO6cK_3iLbjCpCUi0kumTNYl66RXkmHYLWTdqxp0GUq5FvF6NBHY-amxZxvxzAMF8ub-M1WUuEk1u3WxnRcNVAAlViIzTGDa8crEMyERQ8hN5tCor0ECn_YApQAtj85kLa7g/s1600/IMG_6844.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW1wR2mqHwDO6cK_3iLbjCpCUi0kumTNYl66RXkmHYLWTdqxp0GUq5FvF6NBHY-amxZxvxzAMF8ub-M1WUuEk1u3WxnRcNVAAlViIzTGDa8crEMyERQ8hN5tCor0ECn_YApQAtj85kLa7g/s320/IMG_6844.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1 and 2 are the panels. I had 2 of each. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is how I pieced together the star:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKsnj1X8pqD5_9gomLZCA-AzHdac4UUb6rh0wv7HcWoj4K_0-WNR5auYeRuR_CkQAxsl2mdOW-_y60xnKI5e7XQDsUVx6Mkmia2FoiE-7lSybDDWX_5-G9uP9ufCywY-CnBtP6qIcM0nBn/s1600/IMG_6847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKsnj1X8pqD5_9gomLZCA-AzHdac4UUb6rh0wv7HcWoj4K_0-WNR5auYeRuR_CkQAxsl2mdOW-_y60xnKI5e7XQDsUVx6Mkmia2FoiE-7lSybDDWX_5-G9uP9ufCywY-CnBtP6qIcM0nBn/s200/IMG_6847.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. I sewed the four panels together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Then I sewed a border around the 4 joined panels.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGL0ec97Rln4Zx7NXtVd3eKQyay6UGLoEFiHRlR680rhNPVSgyVy0RPmUV6yCP1drPU4FVD2SEt6ZO2vPqGLdH9Meq8ystcmv-SIHpObS4NgSeZvplMjvqnRWeP1EKjcuVHbSwOeOmvfoD/s1600/IMG_6845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGL0ec97Rln4Zx7NXtVd3eKQyay6UGLoEFiHRlR680rhNPVSgyVy0RPmUV6yCP1drPU4FVD2SEt6ZO2vPqGLdH9Meq8ystcmv-SIHpObS4NgSeZvplMjvqnRWeP1EKjcuVHbSwOeOmvfoD/s320/IMG_6845.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. I laid the panel over batting and undernealth the batting I had another piece of navy fabric for the back of the quilt.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. I pinned all 3 layers together and cut off the excess batting. Then sewed all 3 pieces along the edges together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. I made bias binding by cutting 3cm strips of the printed fabric on the diagonal. I joined the strips together to make a long piece. Then I binded the edges using the bias binding that I've made.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So now I have a shiny lap quilt. Did I mentioned that the panels were originally for cushions? But after 12 years I no longer needed navy cushions so as with everything I turned them into lap quilts - you can't have too many (yes you can, I'll probably give this one away).</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPEWXA9RTJiCMfqfbcqojFe9nrCCluqbi1kV8_0m7y1xOmd3KQarrygtPNY8qmKoZotRSn4xQSwjjLvUzGL9pLnfxw6lDwGveS-TcSxUVRVU2JHMTpKxGmJAChb4C7VBnr_T83nLG1vb74/s1600/IMG_6594.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPEWXA9RTJiCMfqfbcqojFe9nrCCluqbi1kV8_0m7y1xOmd3KQarrygtPNY8qmKoZotRSn4xQSwjjLvUzGL9pLnfxw6lDwGveS-TcSxUVRVU2JHMTpKxGmJAChb4C7VBnr_T83nLG1vb74/s320/IMG_6594.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This card is so easy and versatile. You can give this card to congratulate someone, to give a 'star' award to your child, as a thank you, a farewell card, or even an Eid card to someone you know.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are the instructions:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Take a piece of cardboard and make a tri fold as pictured below.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoeeqnd33aYGUSWEmKJsePFqtPmMf3ltiMiI_I0dvHebUtWMlAnVuTlGRo47dooZ1zS-T2hgJOtK82-kDuKoVjq6V5A0NriTDdpeA4vreIxh26NWEK3uqyAnyx4OMKOqgefuRmc2cEPvc1/s1600/IMG_6591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoeeqnd33aYGUSWEmKJsePFqtPmMf3ltiMiI_I0dvHebUtWMlAnVuTlGRo47dooZ1zS-T2hgJOtK82-kDuKoVjq6V5A0NriTDdpeA4vreIxh26NWEK3uqyAnyx4OMKOqgefuRmc2cEPvc1/s320/IMG_6591.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2. Find two complimentary paper and cut to fit on the two front flaps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVYRKoVf8WweSWpmOIrdkGTXDKxqawDbAZfjX67agh0jnfsnPZ8fhvnR2WVGuayHe9aG3LFq0COLCf-A_b8zW-HHExYi__MJVLFiVSJfO7s_MKwEygXFzOhOV34XpDgM_l7zAH-DIe4Fcf/s1600/IMG_6592.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVYRKoVf8WweSWpmOIrdkGTXDKxqawDbAZfjX67agh0jnfsnPZ8fhvnR2WVGuayHe9aG3LFq0COLCf-A_b8zW-HHExYi__MJVLFiVSJfO7s_MKwEygXFzOhOV34XpDgM_l7zAH-DIe4Fcf/s320/IMG_6592.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
3. Cut out two stars, one smaller than the other, from two complimentary paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
4. Glue the small star onto the bigger star.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
5. Glue half the star onto the left front flap, leaving the right side free.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh53OFLk39q5LYHDc6MYKT8y29kIOXDdBn0WO9ZeCMA52jwt4kcJ-UF1XLUrnMofiHx1e34pTwvn2SjEVnm-v_ekQIFJEPmShZuKz_gzw931PbZe_QIKTz8MwqAFhIVisRAymxn8HcszRo-/s1600/IMG_6593.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh53OFLk39q5LYHDc6MYKT8y29kIOXDdBn0WO9ZeCMA52jwt4kcJ-UF1XLUrnMofiHx1e34pTwvn2SjEVnm-v_ekQIFJEPmShZuKz_gzw931PbZe_QIKTz8MwqAFhIVisRAymxn8HcszRo-/s320/IMG_6593.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. Cut s strip from another complimentary paper. You can write in the greeting on this strip. Glue this strip above the star, with half of it hanging free, as shown in picture 8.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7. This is optional: since the blue cardboard is quite dark and hard to write on, find a matching light coloured paper to cut to fit inside the writing area. Glue.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8. And there you have the finished star card. Find a matching envelop and you're ready to give it away.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnTtAG7WD3zVVPiE_YwiS92NRgISHnRhfTYYq6WraEQIt1fFNKE4HvdH_FquJMF-OG1pupiWPzB_c63EyAjYlVONryDfj98skHAcOswKdWySudJysBk2cksVf7LrlFA3gwnzKWOfJFUqoO/s1600/IMG_5805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnTtAG7WD3zVVPiE_YwiS92NRgISHnRhfTYYq6WraEQIt1fFNKE4HvdH_FquJMF-OG1pupiWPzB_c63EyAjYlVONryDfj98skHAcOswKdWySudJysBk2cksVf7LrlFA3gwnzKWOfJFUqoO/s320/IMG_5805.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As you might or might not know, one of my son is into survival gear so I thought I’d make him a bottle holder in a camouflage pattern. For what is survival without water?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is pretty hard to crochet a camouflage pattern as crochet is done in rows. So basically to make it camouflage it’s done using camouflage colours of greens and brown. I looked into my stash of yarn and came up with these three colours. It would have been better if had a brown in there but I worked with what I had.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First, I was going to do it all in even number of rows of each colour but then I thought that camouflage is rather random so I decided to do it in random rows of the three colours.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, I tried to follow this pattern but I didn’t quite understand all the abbreviated instructions so I followed this one from row 1-5 (I’ve used this for <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.com.au/2016/03/crochet-bottle-holders.html" target="_blank">another bottle holder </a>as well) then switched to this at row 6-8.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I’ll rewrite the pattern that I used below it’ll save you from switching patterns.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Materials</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5mm crochet hook</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1 ball or leftovers each in pale green, khaki, brown/beige</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Instructions</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrvua-E6ub53cMPDNWU-Pc_LSnuUQ7Vb5kedIENN_HdVK8DCF8GvoDZH7g5Bs_JT0kHPMhKUwdFymdcVJ7d9c6We3wtloegwff13KIGJbenQVuOT6nN9K038hR9Mskn-GDmhzr4vmj35cP/s1600/IMG_5821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrvua-E6ub53cMPDNWU-Pc_LSnuUQ7Vb5kedIENN_HdVK8DCF8GvoDZH7g5Bs_JT0kHPMhKUwdFymdcVJ7d9c6We3wtloegwff13KIGJbenQVuOT6nN9K038hR9Mskn-GDmhzr4vmj35cP/s320/IMG_5821.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 1: Use the pale green and make 2 chains stitches. Make 6 single crochet (sc – for US) or double crochet (dc – for Australian/UK) into the second chain. [6 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 2: Make 2 sc (dc) in each stitch (st). [12 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 3: Make 2 sc (dc) in the first st, sc (dc) in the next st. Repeat 2sc (dc), 1sc (dc) to the end of the round. [18 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 4: Make 2 sc (dc) in the first st, sc (dc) in the next 2 sts. Repeat to the end of the round. [24 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 5: Make 2 sc (dc) in the first st, sc (dc) in the next 3 sts. Repeat to the end of the round. [30 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 6: Make 2 sc (dc) in the first st, then in the next 4 sts make a sc (dc) in each. Repeat this pattern to the end of the round. [36 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 7: sc (dc) in the back loops only of each st. [36 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Round 8: sc (dc) in both loops of each st. [36 sts]</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Continue in sc (dc) in each st until you’ve reached the desired length. You can randomly change colours after any round. Below is the colour pattern that I’ve used.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 rows of pale green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 khaki</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 beige</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1 green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 khaki</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 beige</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 khaki</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 beige</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 khaki</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1 beige</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3 green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 khaki</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the strap: Make 182 chain stitches,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Row 1: sc (dc) to the end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Row 2: Make 1 chain stitch, sc (dc) to the end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Repeat row 2 four times.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The colours I used were: 3 green, 2 khaki and 1 beige.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Recently, I've started a vintage tea hire business to make use of my collection of tea sets (you can head on over to Antique Tea Service Hire on Facebook or Instagram and like or follow to view my collections if you like to look at beautiful things). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm busy preparing for a Mother's Tea and made these invitations to send out. This was how I've made them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><b>Step 1</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpl8Ysjhc5EXgnL1AGkXlh_POvt_yOq0TeKiYDr6Pf9dSDuqPpTFMhtX3ueBRpokNsi6Jvi3MWiEwE6xRYJgnh9gF1cFtVSMdzfVsvzsouaKOV2YMt90StGqCcmP04jNnCINf6J0z_wi_w/s1600/IMG_5415.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpl8Ysjhc5EXgnL1AGkXlh_POvt_yOq0TeKiYDr6Pf9dSDuqPpTFMhtX3ueBRpokNsi6Jvi3MWiEwE6xRYJgnh9gF1cFtVSMdzfVsvzsouaKOV2YMt90StGqCcmP04jNnCINf6J0z_wi_w/s320/IMG_5415.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Select 2 papers that complement each other and cut out these shapes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Step 2</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP_BEH79xLjDNEomunzkxVwl-Srve1_jHkEBXnsRmYzbV9MTuKybv8UL36B3PxhRFHOcyNqlcLb-_S5E2So6j1OqwyBeySDd3mgsAy16_5nzBq6Z3aWjp0HQC6n0jkkJOnMUA9Ap2ndabd/s1600/IMG_5416.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP_BEH79xLjDNEomunzkxVwl-Srve1_jHkEBXnsRmYzbV9MTuKybv8UL36B3PxhRFHOcyNqlcLb-_S5E2So6j1OqwyBeySDd3mgsAy16_5nzBq6Z3aWjp0HQC6n0jkkJOnMUA9Ap2ndabd/s320/IMG_5416.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Choose your cards to complement the papers. Glue the larger oval to the card first, then the cup and then the smaller oval. Add a strand of diamonte in a complementary colour to the tea cup.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Step 3</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiv80W3nPiP8bQ8Hri1WBLmm4-VaqsKrhpRVGvamQcMUPgpgFuG313UyZNumJPoli_L0Xoa9_Lqfcu-vrBGseqhymtK_kr8rRuv3KQgonpVU17GV7ZgBzY9JudReQ86_QJtNgEh58obg02/s1600/IMG_5417.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiv80W3nPiP8bQ8Hri1WBLmm4-VaqsKrhpRVGvamQcMUPgpgFuG313UyZNumJPoli_L0Xoa9_Lqfcu-vrBGseqhymtK_kr8rRuv3KQgonpVU17GV7ZgBzY9JudReQ86_QJtNgEh58obg02/s320/IMG_5417.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the inside of the card, glue a plain light coloured paper onto the card, then cut out a teapot shape and glue it in the corner and finally write in your message.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Step 4</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip6UICYUnz-mA0QYiP_XJZ3E0jybZ6TXDvqKClIb303LM4MvLYapcD5us0TIncV3Jqd7SdAOyXsAZhwfyb5521HamvRtTAI06W9fkTCohpaq-MORocbLyVV-KlCIYl4x0eHK1vD6JZHJbI/s1600/IMG_5418.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip6UICYUnz-mA0QYiP_XJZ3E0jybZ6TXDvqKClIb303LM4MvLYapcD5us0TIncV3Jqd7SdAOyXsAZhwfyb5521HamvRtTAI06W9fkTCohpaq-MORocbLyVV-KlCIYl4x0eHK1vD6JZHJbI/s320/IMG_5418.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the envelope, cut out and glue a teapot shape in the corner and then address it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's a video of what the cards look like.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYrfj8FgcCqPC53NvD-5o05mZTq0lJ-AFyYNlX3P9VXD6DEgr-anGLkxo4aR0knB3VkdR4zvNd2xUGSu2ruKOvyL85aGc0SK-wb6_H6gkqrY5HNTb3BkOH5_89yC4vkx4wb7yfjxvjTXiI/s1600/IMG_5370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYrfj8FgcCqPC53NvD-5o05mZTq0lJ-AFyYNlX3P9VXD6DEgr-anGLkxo4aR0knB3VkdR4zvNd2xUGSu2ruKOvyL85aGc0SK-wb6_H6gkqrY5HNTb3BkOH5_89yC4vkx4wb7yfjxvjTXiI/s320/IMG_5370.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've made the <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/how-to-make-horizontal-strip-patch-bags.html" target="_blank">horizontal stripe bag before</a> but I had so much fabric left that I decided to make more. But instead of making them all the same I decided to make the stripes for each bag go a different way. So here you have a bag with horizontal stripes, another with vertical stripes and the last one with diagonal stripes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Which one do you think is the nicest? I can't decide. I like them all! The colours are so pretty and goes really nicely together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Stripe bags are so easy to make. You don't need much fabric. Just cut strips of fabric into whatever thickness you want. None of my strips are the same in width if they are then it's just coincidence. I just randomly cut them and sew them together lengthwise until I got the width that I wanted.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(You might notice that these are the same fabrics that I've used in <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/patchwork-lap-quilts.html" target="_blank">my 2 lap quilts.</a> The thing with patchwork is that you don't need much fabric to start with. These bags are great for using any leftover scraps that you have. And yet I still have a bit leftover. These are really scrappy now but I can't bring myself to throw them out. I could still make one more thing with them!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipRl-V3KLwCgBngvpdr55XD3STjOYWpMa2VhmB1-mm4vL4ow_WGoCghv_mwbiAiI9SGMz9eKIOwy5k9zTqOnZke8uvv3sKVeULsUKCM_0J7I-VIUubUnweASVU1T2e_v41KaV3aF8r4j9v/s1600/FullSizeRender+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipRl-V3KLwCgBngvpdr55XD3STjOYWpMa2VhmB1-mm4vL4ow_WGoCghv_mwbiAiI9SGMz9eKIOwy5k9zTqOnZke8uvv3sKVeULsUKCM_0J7I-VIUubUnweASVU1T2e_v41KaV3aF8r4j9v/s320/FullSizeRender+%25282%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The important thing to remember on how to place the strips is usually to place opposites next to each other. So place a dark strip next to a light one then next to the light one place a dark one and so on. Also, place a large print next to a small print then a large print again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's a general rule of thumb and it usually works. If you're sewing it as you go then you can also place the next strip next to the previous one and so how you like it. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pocket Pouch Attached to Belt</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm not sure what to call this - belt pouch or pocket pouch - but my teenager has recently picked up a new interest. It's things to do with survival. Maybe he's been watching too many Bear Grylls (my husband's favourite show) or read too many Ranger's Apprentice type books or maybe it's just a boy thing - I don't know. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But he recently asked me if I could make him a pouch that he can attach to his belt to carry things. I had no idea what that was so I searched it on the internet. There are so many different pouches and no patterns or instructions on how to make one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What can I do but to design my own one with instructions on to how it should look like from my son. We came up with this one. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Materials:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Small fabric of khakil cotton drill (I had leftover scrap fabric from sewing a skirt with this fabric)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2 belt rings</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
10cm velcro</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Instructions:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Cut out one 20cm by 25cm rectangle and one 20cm by 18cm rectangle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDRz6Y3Qk_VOzJJSH_iLZ4FjHYlKyjEDL8B9-PajZ4Vry8Td7JFaYwhwBVECtc0j4yQ8LoRQyvLnIM1EjLaRZB6oILv7M6P4dok9bXe3C9jpYF_kme3-yORCha8oXIMmXf9s8e1KCf_ny-/s1600/IMG_5193.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDRz6Y3Qk_VOzJJSH_iLZ4FjHYlKyjEDL8B9-PajZ4Vry8Td7JFaYwhwBVECtc0j4yQ8LoRQyvLnIM1EjLaRZB6oILv7M6P4dok9bXe3C9jpYF_kme3-yORCha8oXIMmXf9s8e1KCf_ny-/s320/IMG_5193.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Hem the 20cm edge of the smaller rectangle then lay it on top of the larger rectangle, right sides together. Sew the seam along the three sides as shown in photo.</div>

I suppose I could have made 2 loops instead of this strap but my son wanted to easily take the pouch off without having to take the belt off. This is the easier option that I could think of. If I had to make another pouch I would do something that can attach to the belt at each top corner instead of at the middle of the pouch. It sort of sags at the corners doing it this way as it needs the support at the two top corners.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bottle holders are soooo handy! We often go bushwalking and every time we go my husband would be the one to carry all our bottles in his backpack. It's always inconvenient as whenever we need a drink we would have to stop my husband and get the bottles or we would have to wait until my husband decides to stop and let us have the bottles.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Water bottle holders are the solution. Everyone carry their own bottle and we can drink whenever we want. You might ask why don't we carry our own bottles - well when you go bushwalking you don't want to carry or hold anything. These bottle holders have a strap that cross over the shoulder so it makes the bottle quite light.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They're also great for kid's excursions or day outs when you need to have a bottle with you. they are extremely handy for any occassion!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the green one you see above, I used <a href="http://www.luv2crochet.com/girlswaterbottleholder.pdf" target="_blank">this pattern</a>. It looks nothing like the original. I don't know what I did that's different except maybe it was the type of yarn that I used. and the needle size. It didn't turned out half way so I changed the rest of the pattern to my own. Don't ask me what I did, I just did whatever.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhNQ_4dos41v-S0YIaJlfVgJfFCU7zGQvRO2BM1guJCEdaMM_CuXRxQ5CxhsuxzoXG_hyphenhyphenjyAJHx-tvR7OAF0iAjDuGS6My3GFKr1nGoZ5raqn8jKLwRCf4pUGXwQjP1eNlAF6O2CFheYSY/s1600/IMG_3567.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhNQ_4dos41v-S0YIaJlfVgJfFCU7zGQvRO2BM1guJCEdaMM_CuXRxQ5CxhsuxzoXG_hyphenhyphenjyAJHx-tvR7OAF0iAjDuGS6My3GFKr1nGoZ5raqn8jKLwRCf4pUGXwQjP1eNlAF6O2CFheYSY/s320/IMG_3567.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The next one that I made was from <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/water-bottle-cover-and-carry" target="_blank">this pattern</a>. I started out using that pattern but like the first one, it didn't turned out right so I did my own thing once again. I used a cotton yarn for this one. You can't really tell from the photo below but this one was a lot less bulky or chunky. It was finer and looked nicer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv2XcdEz444uB-YdPssT-cWw_4fOCH_hW5QEBCFiZAMcydPHTXV-lsnVDsLWXDyOIWu9vJVhK00_VJB2qgoPQOj5B8z2pLKrF_gAhuAnZc64y0f6dEkJJA6caVRKS7e2DiXyGq1Tx_yrAF/s1600/IMG_3894.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv2XcdEz444uB-YdPssT-cWw_4fOCH_hW5QEBCFiZAMcydPHTXV-lsnVDsLWXDyOIWu9vJVhK00_VJB2qgoPQOj5B8z2pLKrF_gAhuAnZc64y0f6dEkJJA6caVRKS7e2DiXyGq1Tx_yrAF/s320/IMG_3894.JPG" width="113" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I made it while we were overseas and I gave it to my husband's niece. I forgot to take a photo of the bottle holder and this was the best picture that I could find of it. Since it was for a girl I decided to crochet a flower and attach it to the holder. You can hardly see it as it's facing the other way. Anyway, amazingly I took a photo of the flower and this was what it looked like:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisofgV0g_Mc8ifGADVWtpuj85Nc8Tu4RoQQcPJsa2k0EqURgM1qBOYH1tDNk8LM7B13bSW-rO1L7mapa7u5E7aJ_DnEB6p95N98khSp_-UtWEsKMG1Y5-FNOmZGV4J89oMkSrFzkjlUIv1/s1600/IMG_3597.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisofgV0g_Mc8ifGADVWtpuj85Nc8Tu4RoQQcPJsa2k0EqURgM1qBOYH1tDNk8LM7B13bSW-rO1L7mapa7u5E7aJ_DnEB6p95N98khSp_-UtWEsKMG1Y5-FNOmZGV4J89oMkSrFzkjlUIv1/s320/IMG_3597.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Things I would do to improve the bottle holders next time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Use a cotton yarn and not the acrylic ones since cotton yarns are thinner and finer. The finished product looks much nicer, well at least to me anyway. Likewise, use a smaller needle.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Make the strap shorter than the actual length that you want because it will stretch. See in the first photo of the green bottle holder where it is at a nice length? I took that photo just after I finished it and hasn't been used yet. Well after about half an hour it stretched and ended almost to the knee. So I had to tie a knot at the top of the shoulder. Now look at the purple bottle holder, that was taken a while after it was used and it was almost to her knee. The water bottle is heavy so it will stretch the strap.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. I need to sew all the petals down otherwise they will start to wilt (droop) or fold inwards. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm not giving up on bottle holders. I am making another one! Soon! After I find a really easy pattern.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last year, one of my sisters took all of us sisters and her nieces to have high tea with her. She normally has tea at those high end hotels but one of our nieces receommended this little tea shop. So we travelled by train into the city to this quaint little place called the Tea Cosy. Obviously, the main attraction was the tea cosies. They served tea in teapots covered with tea cosies and they even sell them as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Normally, I'm not a fan of tea cosies because I have lovely teapots that would be spoilt by covering them up.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But after our tea I felt inspired to knit or crochet one (maybe to give as a present). So I searched on the internet and found some really lovely ones.</div>

My sister says she prefers having tea at the expensive hotels because there you get the real English high teas which are more elegant (without the tea cosies). But if you prefer something homestyle then quaint little tea shops are the go.<br />
<br />
I searched Amazon and found this amazing book. Just looking at the cover makes me want to look inside.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
My son has been asking me for a new sports bag since he ruined his old one.<br />
<br />
Sports bag are a bit expensive, especially the brand name ones. The last one I bought for him costed $30. Now, I don't mind paying for something that's worth it but really, I could make one easily. $30 for something that I can make in less than 30 minutes is not worth it.<br />
<br />
So here's how I made it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a name='more'></a><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhslgE6P8X7EwyFrjOT5rR3iL8wagAu2ujt-i6NVrfGyrNIPz9b1eu8O4xc5YcOhBmT3TD0_ydG7VTTJ95ReAQbny1SYXn5b-pea_89BMxN6jssMScRLM_Jujmlf5TzKpCCC7OCn71ce7Cs/s1600/IMG_4486.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhslgE6P8X7EwyFrjOT5rR3iL8wagAu2ujt-i6NVrfGyrNIPz9b1eu8O4xc5YcOhBmT3TD0_ydG7VTTJ95ReAQbny1SYXn5b-pea_89BMxN6jssMScRLM_Jujmlf5TzKpCCC7OCn71ce7Cs/s1600/IMG_4486.JPG" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Old ruined sports bag</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
What you need:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2G3ba9aCFunZoWXa4fq_JNponDOnOqVqwMwSpP-BwW4i9-UFStS9XXPnILFVc7ANijEWtJ7YkOSNpfqod1skzXUIF43OHt4z0KuIrXf22UNtN-NRFsmmAYpE1OUpvb99zBepC1AXh_16Y/s1600/IMG_4485.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2G3ba9aCFunZoWXa4fq_JNponDOnOqVqwMwSpP-BwW4i9-UFStS9XXPnILFVc7ANijEWtJ7YkOSNpfqod1skzXUIF43OHt4z0KuIrXf22UNtN-NRFsmmAYpE1OUpvb99zBepC1AXh_16Y/s1600/IMG_4485.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
1.2m vinyl fabric<br />
3.5m cord<br />
<br />
1. Lay the old sports bag over the vinyl fabric that has been folded in half. I used this as the pattern for cutting. Basically, cut a 60cm by 40cm rectangle on the fold (total size of rectangle is 120cmx40cm.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKyzepVHvw3dCUW_91AMUdUdh58eZ882lSyQsAUJFw6eKnfmVbB4bQfjOgNg8icaHunrOKFp2kjbpNfAVrU1sHPaEM7zP3dGwqY4kfbsghK-zXgQPOIUihyCaLTD6fTyWdxcQI47ycRx9T/s1600/IMG_4489.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKyzepVHvw3dCUW_91AMUdUdh58eZ882lSyQsAUJFw6eKnfmVbB4bQfjOgNg8icaHunrOKFp2kjbpNfAVrU1sHPaEM7zP3dGwqY4kfbsghK-zXgQPOIUihyCaLTD6fTyWdxcQI47ycRx9T/s1600/IMG_4489.JPG" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />
<br />
<br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Also cut 2 small rectangles. These will form the loops at the botton sides of the bag to loop the cord through.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih4H-d9uquDsOoF-l4EUSA4IcjT46MrCDQwD2U3EhOrqzrBQU-UpS-XGJFMoQqXrUyqcaWeOoshk8HKIlU7QDSGuBE98cYolaMDeuExs27jVMeRLyYl38AMhG_gm7Q82Dn5FmIbYrwBE1c/s1600/IMG_4492.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih4H-d9uquDsOoF-l4EUSA4IcjT46MrCDQwD2U3EhOrqzrBQU-UpS-XGJFMoQqXrUyqcaWeOoshk8HKIlU7QDSGuBE98cYolaMDeuExs27jVMeRLyYl38AMhG_gm7Q82Dn5FmIbYrwBE1c/s1600/IMG_4492.JPG" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. Hem the 2 short sides of the rectangle to form the casing for the cords to go through. Roughly 2.5cm should be folded and tucked under and sewn.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Fold the rectangle in half with right sides facing. Sew the edges of the 2 small rectangles in. Fold each strip in half to form loops. Pin and tack each loop to the inside of the bottom of the bag on each side about 3cm above from the bottom. Sew the sides of the bag together, over the loop edges as well, leaving the opening of the casings unsewn (so the cords can go through).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. Sew the bottom corners of the bag to make boxed corners (<a href="http://www.sew4home.com/tips-resources/sewing-tips-tricks/romantic-retreat-rowan-free-spirit-fabrics-how-box-corners" target="_blank">see here for intructions</a>) below the loops.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is what the inside of the bag looks like</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
6. Turn the bag right side out. Cut the cord into 2 equal lengths. Thread one length through the casing then through the loop at the bottom. Tie it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been feeling inspired by the <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.co.id/2015/12/101-creative-flowers-for-accessories.html">flower book that I bought</a> but due to lack of supplies I've been frustrated as well. Being in a different country at the moment because I'm on holidays makes it difficult to find supplies - I'm not even sure where to find a craft store. But inspiration came when I was going through my old clothes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've left some clothes here at my in-laws because every so often we would have our holiday here. Some of the clothes have been worn out or were too small for me. I was riffling through the luggage of old clothes when I saw my old petticoat. There was a bit of lace at the bottom...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What else could I do but to cut it off and use it to make a flower? I asked my mother-in-law for a needle, some thread and a pair of needles. Then I looked through the flower book to get ideas and this was what I did:<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Cut off the lace edge of old petticoat or slip.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaaPYpAeNO8vBdUX-AMTcM-R7G3LqqYxTRm-K7ety5leaRjzDFULY4eaxGQhZeNNotYuDVKY2Tyh4vjAZverr2yHihsCs2kWahDapzpHpM_khvaBsWtPZG99XW46TPpviNllk9KZVEiG5k/s1600/IMG_3544.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaaPYpAeNO8vBdUX-AMTcM-R7G3LqqYxTRm-K7ety5leaRjzDFULY4eaxGQhZeNNotYuDVKY2Tyh4vjAZverr2yHihsCs2kWahDapzpHpM_khvaBsWtPZG99XW46TPpviNllk9KZVEiG5k/s320/IMG_3544.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Hand sew a running stitch along the cut edge of the lace.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwKK8jaPrvskuEKAqBo_LZiTSlo04roXLk6RJmq7jsJSi0txiruLJIi8412fAQr2GAAqdRJroLqJsnumqmQoOP83vsbMCx4NuEDIBpTg9FI-wyNsO6cz5K2dt_zYPglWdP_a3AveEMtEVZ/s1600/IMG_3546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwKK8jaPrvskuEKAqBo_LZiTSlo04roXLk6RJmq7jsJSi0txiruLJIi8412fAQr2GAAqdRJroLqJsnumqmQoOP83vsbMCx4NuEDIBpTg9FI-wyNsO6cz5K2dt_zYPglWdP_a3AveEMtEVZ/s320/IMG_3546.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
3. Pull the thread to create gathers along the whole length of the lace.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
4. Start at one end and roll the lace all the way to the other end. Hand sew the back of the flower to hold it into place.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpvja1IpDuFFC5zR3MRYlQxPOUMmoddDHLkHvc5OD_uAZFBWxmHz54RQCffPAhfMht49eTN64blXHo4Di_L5TiZajt_AlNkWUusIwvNKIL6-v7qfStpNqrXsBg1TVD7Rc9Kd8EHoLv2ox_/s1600/IMG_3552.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpvja1IpDuFFC5zR3MRYlQxPOUMmoddDHLkHvc5OD_uAZFBWxmHz54RQCffPAhfMht49eTN64blXHo4Di_L5TiZajt_AlNkWUusIwvNKIL6-v7qfStpNqrXsBg1TVD7Rc9Kd8EHoLv2ox_/s320/IMG_3552.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
5. This is the front. It was a bit plain so I looked around for something to embellish it. I found an old flower brooch that someone gave me a long time ago that I never used and I attached it to the middle of the flower.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEq3WgmmXwv1in3FGN2Osl2WxeE4DtuS93yhrPstpKeSypIi2vhG2CddePc7Fp4Z0342I717MYkICmbe8aDs339Eqp9JUVXmnDFkKTzYMnR3puzY1D0AlacVuZYNP3OZEo0yqtrhh5XAz9/s1600/IMG_3554.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEq3WgmmXwv1in3FGN2Osl2WxeE4DtuS93yhrPstpKeSypIi2vhG2CddePc7Fp4Z0342I717MYkICmbe8aDs339Eqp9JUVXmnDFkKTzYMnR3puzY1D0AlacVuZYNP3OZEo0yqtrhh5XAz9/s320/IMG_3554.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I could use this flower for decorating a hair clip, attach it to a safety pin and use it as a brooch or maybe even use it as a decoration for a gift - I'll probably use it as a gift decoration.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I mentioned in another post that I have a collection of antique china, well I'm not the only one. My sisters have their own collections and so I have a collection of broken pieces as well from my own items and my sisters. They are too pretty to throw away. So what do I do with them? I turn them into mosaic of course!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is another one. This is the complete cake plate belonging to one of my sisters. The plate was from a set called Windsor made by Tuscany of England. My sister bought the set from England when she was staying there and had them shipped over to Australia when she came back. But when she opened the box, a few pieces were broken. This was among them (including a tureen!).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a>For this trivet or teapot stand, I wanted to keep all the pieces. These were the pieces that I started with.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLJkxqkEl8_M08VS_NXSUhj3B5bIQYf4gXFnYDNSe4ETfY8d_ZxfC8Z7Wl3i3JC67eQ7mME0DBWkb5JgRQPvnRs8KdTSIRpdbSxW78vsHc9jZz6FWgRxyUP0X8o_T0q3r3jjz7z-pfqU7i/s1600/IMG_2766.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLJkxqkEl8_M08VS_NXSUhj3B5bIQYf4gXFnYDNSe4ETfY8d_ZxfC8Z7Wl3i3JC67eQ7mME0DBWkb5JgRQPvnRs8KdTSIRpdbSxW78vsHc9jZz6FWgRxyUP0X8o_T0q3r3jjz7z-pfqU7i/s320/IMG_2766.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then I used a glass tile cutter to cut more pieces.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghfS3Kxv-mgQTwAOS797-Px6L0RP2jXHHpAL4432AHl2Hf1vsvhByF4GBdOd0f2qIiKLsiSR9Cpaum1a_q-GpR4OlXjXISK8MofQ3tqdCGc3yddl2nU6Z6vLEFe3Bt_YSJAXEDPLoq24nX/s1600/IMG_2767.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghfS3Kxv-mgQTwAOS797-Px6L0RP2jXHHpAL4432AHl2Hf1vsvhByF4GBdOd0f2qIiKLsiSR9Cpaum1a_q-GpR4OlXjXISK8MofQ3tqdCGc3yddl2nU6Z6vLEFe3Bt_YSJAXEDPLoq24nX/s320/IMG_2767.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next, I glued the pieces onto the wooden trivet, let them dried then I grouted the whole thing with a cream coloured grout. Any of the sharp edges that stuck out were then filed with sandpaper to smooth them out. I then painted the sides a gold colour to match the gold on the side edge of the plate. Finally, I applied varnish over the gold paint to protect it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqeKxYMwXSLHJUnw8g9AysoD4YJKiJL0Z4lnOBOe2hSQWxeuJd1j3Kal9_xRnnW8BWskDwSubutb9Iy_qSOXDIhXPsPK4u1tBJMT1QTU_HJHiwcxhrCM8XUaZN_cV8jAgrl5DOr-P-CR3/s1600/IMG_2772.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqeKxYMwXSLHJUnw8g9AysoD4YJKiJL0Z4lnOBOe2hSQWxeuJd1j3Kal9_xRnnW8BWskDwSubutb9Iy_qSOXDIhXPsPK4u1tBJMT1QTU_HJHiwcxhrCM8XUaZN_cV8jAgrl5DOr-P-CR3/s320/IMG_2772.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is a photo of a tea party that my sister had earlier using this lovely set. I especially made this trivet for her. Now, the next time she uses this set again she can use the trivet. Imagine it under that teapot!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my second atttempt at crochet. The first one was a total disaster. The stitches were uneven and I had to restart five times. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.Oh why didn't I teach myself crochet sooner? I love crochet! I'm starting on another project using a different stitch (watch out for that one).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this scarf:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. I used a 4mm hook and made chain stitches up till the length that I wanted.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. For the remaining rows, I used the treble stitch.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. I made 4 rows of yellow, 8 rows of pink and 1 row of grey.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do try to make this scarf. It is so easy. If I, who is a beginner, can do this then you can too.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Stripe Knitted Blanket</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What you do you when you have too many different coloured yarn leftover from other projects? They were taking too much room and they were just sitting there. They had to go! It then came to me that the quickest way to use up all of them was to knit a blanket.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You might recognise some of the colours from my past craze of <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/knitted-stripy-beanie-with-or-without.html">knitted beanies</a> from a couple of years ago. I'm over with beanies (well knitted beanies for the moment) so I'll not likely use the yarns again. Now I have a very useful blanket for those cold days when I'm sitting at my computer typing away...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here's how I've made it:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Cast on 150 stitches.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Using 10mm needles, knit using garter stitch all the way until the yarn of one colour finishes then attach another coloured yarn and continue.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. To knit the border, knit up stitches evenly along one edge of the blanket. Knit in garter stitch and increase one stitch at the end of each alternate row (this will give you the mitre edge). Knit until desired width then cast off loosely. Repeat for the three remaining edges.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Join the edges of the corner borders. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. Get ready for some snuggle time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I admit that I have a large collection of antique china from England although I'm not one of those people who store away their collections and never use them. I love to host tea parties and luncheons when I have time and when I do I usually take out my fine china. However, I'm not in the habit of cracking my china just to make mosaics. They are hands off when it comes to art and craft.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Having said that, I have quite a few pieces that are old with chips and cracks. Also, sometimes when I purchase them online, a few pieces get broken during delivery without proper packaging. I used to get upset when they get broken because it is such a waste but I've recently taken up recycling them by using them in my mosaics.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I've started quite a few projects but the one pictured above is my first finished one. For this I've used two Swinnertons Staffordshire 'Nestor Vellum' plates that had seen better days (I think they date from the 1950s). They were heavily crazed although it's not as noticable when made into mosaics.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This was how I made this teapot trivet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
1. Take a plate and put it between two layers of newspapers. Use something heavy such as a pestle and hit the plate. You need to be strategic when hitting the plate. Don't bash them all over the place as you'll end up with a million tiny pieces. Just crack where you want the plate to break. If you have glass cutters then use it to cut where you want the pieces to break. I actually used a glass cutter to cut it into amaller pieces.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2. Take a wooden trivet (from a craft outlet) and arrange the cracked pieces from the plate much like a jigsaw puzzle. Keep rearranging the pieces until you are pleased with the way they fit together. Remember to leave gaps between each piece. Glue them into place using craft glue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
3. Mix the grout in the colour of your choice until a paste is formed. Spread this over the mosaic, making sure you push the grout into all the cracks and around the edge. Wipe off excess. Let dry completely for 24 hours.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
4. Sandpaper all the edges of the china pieces to make sure that they're not sharp. Clean the surface of the china and wood by wiping with a damp cloth. Take paint in your choice of colour and paint the side of the wooden trivet. Let dry. You might need another to paint another coat.<br />
<br />
Pictures 5, 6 and 7 are of the finished product.<br />
<br />
8. Enjoy your mosaic rose trivet.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7084349366784697363.post-19707833908613004392015-09-29T04:03:00.000-07:002015-09-29T04:21:58.703-07:00Easy Fun Unusual Scarves to Knit<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've been experimenting with the different yarns available to knit scarves with. These are the basic garter stitch scarves but made with different types of yarns. They are so fluffy and feel so soft around your neck. It feels like you're wearing a fur stole!</div>

A word of caution with these yarn is that they are hard to see because of all the fluff sticking out. I have dropped many stitches which watching tv or talking. I had to really look down at the stitches while I was knitting.</div>

Most of these scarves I've made and given them to my nieces and friends' children. They make really great gifts that are easy, quick, unusual and pretty. So if you want something different try knitting with different yarns.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This winter my fad has been knitting scarves. (A couple of years ago, it had been <a href="http://seweasysocrafty.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/knitted-stripy-beanie-with-or-without.html" target="_blank">knitting beanies.</a>) They have got to be one of the quickest and easiest things to knit. If you're teaching your children to knit then I would start with scarves.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wanted to teach my boys to knit but it didn't caught on with them. Here are a few pictures of them knitting. They look so tense! :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the blue and brown scarf above, the stitch used was garter stitch. It's the same stitch so children only need to concentrate on doing the same thing - that's why it's so easy to start your kids on knitting these scarves. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What makes it even easier and quick was the needle size and the yarn thickness. The thicker the yarn then the bigger the needle and the quicker the knitting will be finished. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The blue scarf used two strands of medium thick yarn knitted together and I casted on 20 stitches using 12mm needles. The brown scarf was a really thick yarn so I only needed to cast on 10 stitches using the 12mm needles. Then we knitted using garter stitch until the desired length. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-vk-UZswY0AxoEMHrHVk6ow8SYNQIvxEuXiyPwBz91tSAkaUA5Zcc8fQ0DlXHGAKZlYtKaYpHR8VTERo1Z_iuni3AXfY-5IIutSAFUWAEa4vflhO9MdiCsbrGoVRtwgk5yoCL23zNi_4/s1600/IMG_1718.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-vk-UZswY0AxoEMHrHVk6ow8SYNQIvxEuXiyPwBz91tSAkaUA5Zcc8fQ0DlXHGAKZlYtKaYpHR8VTERo1Z_iuni3AXfY-5IIutSAFUWAEa4vflhO9MdiCsbrGoVRtwgk5yoCL23zNi_4/s320/IMG_1718.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you know me then you'll know that I've been making coasters and small square boxes with children. The reason is because the small square shape is easy for children to work with - easy to fill and quick to do. Which was why I started this placemat project a while ago but never finished. But I decided that I will get this done and I did. So here are the instructions.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Materials:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A rectangular wooden placemat</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mosaic tiles, colour of your choice. Here I'd chosen beige, lilac, soft pinks, dark purple and contrastig soft blue and green</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
PVA glue</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Small paintbrush</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Glass cutter</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Grout, white</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Instructions:</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwBI5xPZyha50a9D8cxM5PL27wUSMb4ZgWdSewXz5W0aoKXz6hmH3QuJcnI5iUzKAMNiZqHATfdJ0Pn89kVZ9R6Nmmmyzdb0MSPpQ8K6drEAOS-41Yo9M53NtwWvdpCBy6IUM77FHWQo/s1600/IMG_1716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBwBI5xPZyha50a9D8cxM5PL27wUSMb4ZgWdSewXz5W0aoKXz6hmH3QuJcnI5iUzKAMNiZqHATfdJ0Pn89kVZ9R6Nmmmyzdb0MSPpQ8K6drEAOS-41Yo9M53NtwWvdpCBy6IUM77FHWQo/s320/IMG_1716.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Use the paintbrush to glue a line of dark border onto the placemat. Then glue your design in the middle of the placemat. Here I've made a blue vase with 3 flowers.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Glue another border, only on the top and bottom edges.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. Glue another colour border inside of the first two borders.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Fill in the background by glueing in the background coloured tiles.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitBC8ptpVrZlkuB4bupzx1ZqCD5vdeYKuKwZyiEIFmehn34rldZMNM3LsmplvhMtqm7CmBYv4pusmIlH-bM4azgDWTcdOaDFMft5OEnLInAn5QkA98xsDHTTIT_XRiOWTIu_27cT0vfKE/s1600/IMG_1717.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitBC8ptpVrZlkuB4bupzx1ZqCD5vdeYKuKwZyiEIFmehn34rldZMNM3LsmplvhMtqm7CmBYv4pusmIlH-bM4azgDWTcdOaDFMft5OEnLInAn5QkA98xsDHTTIT_XRiOWTIu_27cT0vfKE/s320/IMG_1717.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. For the background behind the flowers and leaves, I used the glass cutter to cut the tiles into shape to fit like a jigsaw puzzle. Glue these into place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. Mix the grout powder with water until you get a paste - not too runny and not too thick. Spread this over the whole tiles on the placemat.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7. Use your fingered glove to push the grout into all the spaces between the tiles, making sure that all spaces have been fillled. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8. Wipe all the excess grout off. You can tape the placemat lightly on a table to knock out any air pockets. Leave to dry completely overnight.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
9. Once it's completely dry, use a damp cloth to wipe any remaining grout off. and there you have it. You can use it as a placemat, a wall decoration or even a trivet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you've enjoyed that and are going to make one, please comment and send me pictures. I'd love to see them.<br />
