Do you like to sew and make things and are looking for ideas and instructions? You will find them here. In my spare time I like to sew and make crafts. Sometimes, I teach adult and children how to sew and make things as well. I'm not a professional seamstress or artist so my projects tend to be on the easy side, hence, the name of my sewing & craft blog is 'Sew Easy So Crafty'.

Free Heart Frame Download

free frame download below

I've started to doodle some more and decided to make frames with my doodles.

What can you use these frames for?  Almost anything that you can think of, really. At the top of my head I can think of name tags, gift tags, making cards, flashcards, workheets, colouring sheets and posters.

Free Roses for Mum Card Download

So after my first try at watercolour roses using the Copic brush pen, I decided to make another rose picture. This time I bought an extra shade of pink.

The three pink shades make the roses more 3 dimensional. If you compare this with my previous attempt, the first lot of roses look more flat. This one has a bit more depth to it.

3 Watercolour Roses for You

I got early to work today and on my way I stopped by Officeworks to do some photocopying since my machine was broken and had to be fixed. I decided to have a look around first and found  these Ciao Copic pens which I've been looking for.

I grabbed two packs, one is a pastel palette and the other is a bright palette. I've always loved roses and knew that I'd need a few different shades of pinks and greens (hence the two packs).

Valentine Heart Colouring Sheet

Here is a colouring sheet just for you, for personal use only. You can download the pdf below.

I've combined my drawing with the words 'You are my Valentine' in calligraphy. Yes, I've learnt calligraphy years ago but haven't used it until recently when I realised that you can do it free-hand and not stick to the rigid rules of classical calligraphy. I believe it's called lettering. There is so many possibilities!

Valentine Patchwork Heart Shopping Bag

Yes, it's another bag and yes, it's another patchwork heart. But this time I've combined the two and made it into a bag. Here's how I made it:

Free Colouring Floral Frame to Download

I've just started a new hobbie and it's drawing these colouring sheets. Now I'm not a doodler but I like to occasionally draw. Last year I saw my niece doodling these henna-style florals and I thought I'd have a go.

So I've been doodling away. And this is how I made this floral frame that you see.

Turn Your Broken China Into Jewellery

I have a lot of antique English fine bone china that I've collected over the years. Most of them are in excellent condition but sometimes I do come across old, worn out pieces or broken pieces.

Accidents do happen. Take for example my antique Foley Wileman set below. When I heard the ching of broken china my heart nearly stopped. My husband accidentally dropped something on it. This set was from the early 19th century.

A Twinkly Star Lap Quilt

This lap quilt has been twelve years in the making.

I started this quilt 12 years ago when my eldest was a toddler. I thought that I could continue with my sewing hobbies after having a baby but boy was I wrong.

I had sewn the patchwork stars and border pieces and had started to hand sew clear beads and sequence onto the them. Sewing with a toddler was difficult because he was always attached to me and if I sewed he would crawl around and fiddle with the foot pedal. Dangerous!

Easy Star Card to Make

This card is so easy and versatile. You can give this card to congratulate someone, to give a 'star' award to your child, as a thank you, a farewell card, or even an Eid card to someone you know.

These are the instructions:

Pattern for a Crochet Camouflage Bottle Holder

As you might or might not know, one of my son is into survival gear so I thought I’d make him a bottle holder in a camouflage pattern. For what is survival without water?

It is pretty hard to crochet a camouflage pattern as crochet is done in rows. So basically to make it camouflage it’s done using camouflage colours of greens and brown. I looked into my stash of yarn and came up with these three colours. It would have been better if had a brown in there but I worked with what I had.

Tea Party Invitation Cards

Recently, I've started a vintage tea hire business to make use of my collection of tea sets (you can head on over to Antique Tea Service Hire on Facebook or Instagram and like or follow to view my collections if you like to look at beautiful things).

I'm busy preparing for a Mother's Tea and made these invitations to send out. This was how I've made them.

Make a Stripe Bag in 3 Different Ways

I've made the horizontal stripe bag before but I had so much fabric left that I decided to make more. But instead of making them all the same I decided to make the stripes for each bag go a different way. So here you have a bag with horizontal stripes, another with vertical stripes and the last one with diagonal stripes.

Which one do you think is the nicest? I can't decide. I like them all! The colours are so pretty and goes really nicely together.

How to Make a Pocket Pouch that Attaches to A Belt

Pocket Pouch Attached to Belt
I'm not sure what to call this - belt pouch or pocket pouch - but my teenager has recently picked up a new interest. It's things to do with survival. Maybe he's been watching too many Bear Grylls (my husband's favourite show) or read too many Ranger's Apprentice type books or maybe it's just a boy thing - I don't know.

But he recently asked me if I could make him a pouch that he can attach to his belt to carry things. I had no idea what that was so I searched it on the internet. There are so many different pouches and no patterns or instructions on how to make one.

What can I do but to design my own one with instructions on to how it should look like from my son. We came up with this one.

Crochet Bottle Holders

Bottle holders are soooo handy! We often go bushwalking and every time we go my husband would be the one to carry all our bottles in his backpack. It's always inconvenient as whenever we need a drink we would have to stop my husband and get the bottles or we would have to wait until my husband decides to stop and let us have the bottles.

Water bottle holders are the solution. Everyone carry their own bottle and we can drink whenever we want. You might ask why don't we carry our own bottles - well when you go bushwalking you don't want to carry or hold anything. These bottle holders have a strap that cross over the shoulder so it makes the bottle quite light.

High Teas and Tea Cosies

Last year, one of my sisters took all of us sisters and her nieces to have high tea with her. She normally has tea at those high end hotels but one of our nieces receommended this little tea shop. So we travelled by train into the city to this quaint little place called the Tea Cosy. Obviously, the main attraction was the tea cosies. They served tea in teapots covered with tea cosies and they even sell them as well.

Normally, I'm not a fan of tea cosies because I have lovely teapots that would be spoilt by covering them up.

Sew a Sports Bag in 30 Minutes or Less

My son has been asking me for a new sports bag since he ruined his old one.

Sports bag are a bit expensive, especially the brand name ones. The last one I bought for him costed $30. Now, I don't mind paying for something that's worth it but really, I could make one easily. $30 for something that I can make in less than 30 minutes is not worth it.

So here's how I made it.

Upcycle Flower

I've been feeling inspired by the flower book that I bought but due to lack of supplies I've been frustrated as well. Being in a different country at the moment because I'm on holidays makes it difficult to find supplies - I'm not even sure where to find a craft store. But inspiration came when I was going through my old clothes.

I've left some clothes here at my in-laws because every so often we would have our holiday here. Some of the clothes have been worn out or were too small for me. I was riffling through the luggage of old clothes when I saw my old petticoat. There was a bit of lace at the bottom...

101 Creative Flowers for Accessories

I bought this book while in Indonesia. The flowers look really pretty but I don't understand what it says. Oh well, lucky there are pictures to accompany the instructions.

Broken Plate Trivet

I mentioned in another post that I have a collection of antique china, well I'm not the only one. My sisters have their own collections and so I have a collection of broken pieces as well from my own items and my sisters. They are too pretty to throw away. So what do I do with them? I turn them into mosaic of course!

Here is another one. This is the complete cake plate belonging to one of my sisters. The plate was from a set called Windsor made by Tuscany of England. My sister bought the set from England when she was staying there and had them shipped over to Australia when she came back. But when she opened the box, a few pieces were broken. This was among them (including a tureen!).

Pastel Coloured Stripe Crochet Scarf

This is my second atttempt at crochet. The first one was a total disaster. The stitches were uneven and I had to restart five times.

I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.Oh why didn't I teach myself crochet sooner? I love crochet! I'm starting on another project using a different stitch (watch out for that one).

For this scarf:
